Search instructions

Due to the increasing numbers of suitable designs in the catalog, several search methods help the user browse the catalog.

Browsing the catalog

The catalog is divided into a number of categories which are displayed in list form. After pressing TAB, the subcategories within a category are shown, also as a list. The subcategories are divided into series, once again in lists. The resulting lists contain several subjects that are connected to each other. You can browse through the various lists using the cursor keys.

You can move down one level using the TAB key, and up one level using shift-TAB.

This search method provides the user with a broad overview of the collection.

Search by category

Fill in just one character and the categories, sub-categories or series are displayed. In case of a subcategory or series, the main category is also shown.

Key word search

Each image contains a title, one or more text labels and a description. You can search through all those elements using (a part of) a word. The search criteria can consist of (a part of) one word, or of many words. Every language in the titles, text labels and descriptions will be searched.

To improve chances of finding the right image, we advise using search words in several languages. It is always possible that a visitor has added a new description in a different language. Or, because designers come from all over the world, the design could be in the catalog, but not yet in browser’s preferred language. Using different search words helps you to find the right image.

Thumbnail images

The images are shown as thumbnail images for easy reference. However, this means that the accompanying text elements cannot be shown because they are too small. The image can be enlarged by clicking on it. Language versions

Language versions of the design elements

Whenever a designer adds a design to the catalog, he is asked to add, if possible, an English version of the title, text label and description,  as well as a version in his native language. Each image displays the language in which the text elements have been written.

Anyone visiting the catalog will automatically be notified about the availability of a version in his own language. If this language is not available, visitors will be asked to provide a translation.

The English version of the text elements is the source text for the translation into another language.
